Cartwheel receives SLB Kaisa ng Bayan Award
Cartwheel Foundation was given the Kaisa ng Bayan Award by Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan (SLB), a Jesuit socio-political organization on February 24, 2016, the eve of EDSA Revolution’s 30th anniversary. Cartwheel was among 30 other individuals and groups recognized as keeping the People Power spirit alive by advocating for social justice through meaningful work.
The awards were part of SLB’s year-long 30th anniversary celebration.

Cartwheel is grateful for the strong partnership with SLB in Culion specifically – with the construction of multi-purpose evacuation halls for the Tagbanua island communities of Alulad, Cagait, and Chindonan; and the implementation of Community-Based Disaster Risk Reduction Management learning sessions for Tagbanua community members.
