Indigenized Materials

Cartwheel co-creates indigenized Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials with its partner communities, drawing from indigenous knowledge systems to enrich education and celebrate cultural identity.

This workbook contains indigenous children’s stories coupled with expressive art activities, and a compilation of outputs created by past Cartwheel learners. This was co-created with the Sama-Bajau community and in partnership with Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation.

Ang workbook na ito ay naglalaman ng mga kwento ng mga batang Katutubo na may kasamang malikhaing gawaing sining, pati na rin ang iba’t ibang likha ng mga dating mag-aaral ng Cartwheel. Binuo ito kasama ng pamayanang Sama-Bajau, at sa pakikipagtulungan ng Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation.

Kuwentuhang Karapatan Komiks (Comics on Rights) highlights the different ways Sama-Bajau parents show love and care for their children. It also serves as a documentation of their community practices that are aligned with child protection. Legends of the Sea (Folk Tales of Southeast Asia)" is a workbook created to promote joy and meaningful lessons for children in underprivileged communities in Southeast Asia through art, play, and storytelling. It was created through a collaboration of five fellows from the Arts for Good Fellowship organized by the Singapore International Foundation.
